NOMA’s New City Square

A hidden space at the heart of The co-operative’s expansive estate is being transformed into a vibrant city square, forming a new destination to attract people to visit, work and live. This will be a place for all; connecting new development and The co-operative’s architectural legacy as it is brought into fresh use.

Martyn Hulme, Board Director of NOMA (GP) Ltd , said: “This is a significant milestone for NOMA and marks the start of a pivotal year. Planit-IE and the team have designed a fantastic new space that will bring new energy to the very heart of NOMA. Residents, businesses and the whole community can look forward to seeing the new square take shape and enhance the city centre enormously’.

P-IE’s in-house visualisation and animation team, Virtual Planit, have fused aerial video footage by ironBird and rendered 3D models to demonstrate the realities of proposed development and beneficial impacts to the cityscape. The compelling real-time animation was developed for NOMA’s presentation for the Manchester stand at MIPIM and was also featured by the BBC News on 10th March 2014.
