Camley Street Regeneration
We are delighted to announce that Planit-IE is part of the FCBStudios-led team that has won the Camden Council competition for Camley Street Regeneration. Planit-IE worked alongside Architecture 00, Studio Woodroffe Papa, Buro Happold and CDRM Services to support the FCBStudios entry to secure the £136 million regeneration of two light industrial parks just north of King’s Cross.
The project aims to deliver a ‘highly sustainable, inclusive and innovative’ mixed-use transformation of two sites in the Borough. Plans for the sites at 120-136 Camley Street and nearby 3-30 Cedar Way, will meet objectives set out in the Camley Street Neighbourhood Development Plan, which has been developed by the local community over recent years.
The scheme will create around new 350 homes and 12,000m2 of commercial space on council-owned land. The aim is for delivery of new high-quality, flexible and affordable workspaces to promote an inclusive economy and help fund council services, and contribute to the delivery of affordable housing elsewhere in the borough.
James King, Director at Planit-IE “We look forward to working with FCBStudios and Camden Council on this fascinating project and relish the opportunity to support regeneration of the area through the creation of homes and employment space within a dynamic and sustainable landscape setting. The project has the opportunity to draw together a number of emerging development proposals for the local area to create a well-balanced, community focussed neighbourhood.”
