Over the last few months in particular, there has been renewed and overdue focus on unconscious bias, particularly relating to cultural background. Many of us have been considering and educating ourselves with regard to rectifying engrained and long-standing imbalance within the society in which we live, work and serve. Dr Bridget Snaith’s ‘Green Space or White Space’ video was an eye-opening reminder of how this permeates and can be redressed within our realm of work.

Aire Park in Leeds Gets the Green Light!

Opportunities to create new city parks are often few and far between, so we are particularly delighted to announce that plans for Aire Park on Leed’s South Bank have taken a step forward, gaining unanimous planning approval from councillors at the Leeds City Plans Panel. Planit-IE has been working with Vastint UK over the past three years to develop proposals. This decision marks the end of the beginning and celebrates the monumental effort by all the consultants and client to deliver a truly exemplar new public park for Leeds City Centre.

MAY PLAY at Mayfield

Children have had the opportunity to design their own playscape for a planned city centre park through a series of collaborative workshops and drop-in sessions. A prototype play structure has been fabricated as a temporary installation at Mayfield, with the hope of influencing the final design of the city park, set at the heart of this redevelopment scheme.
