Children have had the opportunity to design their own playscape for a planned city centre park through a series of collaborative workshops and drop-in sessions. A prototype play structure has been fabricated as a temporary installation at Mayfield, with the hope of influencing the final design of the city park, set at the heart of this redevelopment scheme.
We kicked off our year in practice by jetting off to Copenhagen, immersed within the Planit family from the get-go. Shoppers, diners and businesses in Stockport will soon be able to enjoy a town-centre parklet and pocket park; a mini park featuring seating, greenery and cycle parking. The pocket park has been installed in a previously under-used part of Bridgefield Street which has been transformed by planting and a vibrant art wall, with a concrete table tennis table and chimes for children to play with.
Invigorated, having considered where we’ve come from and what we’ve achieved, we looked to challenges ahead in a series of workshops run throughout the afternoon of our Future Planning Day. Six themes explored topics that are pertinent to the practice’s direction, or the teams were keen to examine.
Planit-IE recently gathered for a practice-wide Future Planning Day in the Old Bank Residency – the place where creative things happen. All studios and disciplines were brought together to reinforce our collective mindset of ‘working as one’ as we focus on the future of the business.
Planit was delighted to welcome long-term friend and collaborator Chris Brammall to the studio today. Chris is dedicated to the creation of the highest quality sculptural and architectural metalwork. He is a fantastic exemplar of a creator and designer who also delivers and manufactures.
