Circle Square Proposals

Circle Square has been announced as the new name for the former BBC site redevelopment by Joint venture partners Bruntwood and Select Property.

Circle Square is set to be a diverse and unique place where discoveries and ideas can thrive. The name is an intentional contradiction that invites curiosity and perfectly depicts the vision for the area.

As a key development for Corridor Manchester, Circle Square is helping realise its ambition of becoming a top global innovation district. The development is set to complement leading centres of knowledge, art, music and innovation in its immediate surroundings and provide a compelling offer that encourages existing talent to stay in Manchester.

A series of public consultations outlining the full ethos for the site have been held this week ahead of submitting one of Manchester’s largest planning applications to date in January next year. The £360m proposals include over a million sq ft of residential, commercial and public space, with the aim of creating over 2000 jobs for the city.

Central to the site will be two spaces designed specifically to bring people and businesses together. The Green and its associated pavilion will provide additional events space for the city, whilst the ground floors of residential and commercial blocks are designed to attract a vibrant mix of independent retail and leisure operators.
