Disciplines
We are an Inter-disciplinary Practice not a Multi-disciplinary Business. We have three clearly defined disciplines (Landscape Architecture, Urban Strategy and Design, and Visual Storytelling) and two supporting services (Impact Assessment and Creative Engagement).

Landscape Architecture

Our collaborative and sustainable approach to design delivers exemplary landscape and public realm schemes. Schemes that embed themselves within the communities they serve and seek to restore balance between people, place and nature.

Urban Strategy and Design

Our work intersects scales; from city centre strategies and visions, through large residential masterplans, to small site interventions. All are derived through an understanding of context, people, place and potential.

Visual Storytelling

Our work involves creating media, whether it be still or film, to help convey design proposals across built and natural environments. Our CGI's are versatile enough to convey reality, as well as being able to be more conceptual and romantic.

Creative Engagement

Our job is to encourage active citizenship and direct participation with place. We present loose ends, unanswered questions, and unresolved designs for open ended collaboration, allowing opportunity for all citizens to effect change.

What if every time we built something, the world got better?
It's a simple ambition, but a complex challenge to untangle. We have a Regenerative Design Tool that provides us with a framework to manage that complexity, and take on that challenge.

INTERDISCIPLINARY PRACTICE

We are an Interdisciplinary Practice not a Multidisciplinary Business. There is added value in using as much of ‘us’ as possible, we are not simply selling items off a menu. We have three clearly defined disciplines (Landscape Architecture, Urban Strategy and Design, and Visual Storytelling) and two supporting services (Impact Assessment and Creative Engagement).

We proactively explore ways in which we can evolve and develop our interdisciplinary offer, through combining teams on projects, more cross-discipline design review and learning and development programmes tailored to stretch and challenge everyone at Planit whatever your job description.

Through closer collaboration and interdisciplinary working we each broaden our knowledge and strengthen our abilities.

There are demonstrable benefits and positive outcomes from an interdisciplinary practice, arising from our ability to merge these disciplines into cohesive solutions. Tackling the challenges of the world ahead can’t be done in silos.

Despite the urgency, these challenges cannot be resolved in months or years. Natural processes take decades and centuries. We are proficient at the longer view and as we will never be sold, we can be trusted to take it by our clients.
