Employee Ownership Plans

We are excited to announce that Planit-IE intends to become an employee-owned company. This affirmative move is being embraced as the best way of ensuring the business continues to flourish long into the future. 

Our practice is a people-centred business, and the Directors believe it is vital that all team members feel a strong sense of value and belonging. Collective ownership and transparent development through Employee Ownership strongly reinforces this premise. The move also enables the practice to put a succession plan in place that will see new generations at Planit-IE continuing to support existing clients, and develop new ones, long after the current Directors have gone. Individuals will be able to equitably rise to senior positions through merit, without the traditional requirement of investing substantial sums to buy that status.

We are following the example of other built environment consultancies such as Mott MacDonald, Turley and Steer Davies Gleave. Our leadership team has spent the last six months speaking to our friends and collaborators who operate employee-owned businesses, exploring the mechanics of forming an employee-owned trust and whether it would be right for us. We are particularly grateful to AHMM and Arup who have generously passed on the benefit of their Employee Ownership experience.

Extensive engagement with our existing team has already begun, and we will work with the Employee Ownership Association to put a structure in place for an Employee-Owned Trust.
