Liverpool Studio Launch
The decision to open a new studio, on the world-famous waterfront, set in the heart of Liverpool Waters (for which we are the masterplan lead) couldn’t have been easier. With a growing profile and international reputation, Liverpool is undergoing its next phase of transformation – and we are delighted to be at the heart of many of the projects.
We received a warm welcome from long-term clients and co-collaborators at a launch event that celebrated the opening of the office we now share with our Project Management and Quantity Surveying friends at, Walker Sime, alongside new friends H&S specialists, Safer Sphere. The generosity of Deputy Director of Regeneration at Liverpool Council, Mark Kitts, was greatly appreciated as his introductory speech embraced us and drew us further into Liverpool’s property community.
The warm reception stems from our active role in several of the city’s most transformative projects over the last fifteen years. We have been involved in the restoration of Liverpool’s much-loved Stanley Park; expansion of Anfield Stadium and work to bring the former International Garden Festival site back to life. The production of the Liverpool Strategic Investment Framework with Deloitte in 2011, setting a dynamic vision for the ‘big ideas’ that will transform the city over the next 15 year period, was another defining project for the practice. The big ideas it gave birth to are now being realised.
Our integral role in the shaping of Liverpool Waters over the last decade is now changing, as the project moves into the delivery phase. In addition to acting as the ‘Guardian’ of proposals for this fantastic waterfront site, we are reworking the masterplan, delivering public realm and green space, developing a ‘meanwhile’ programme and looking at the long-term strategic implications for Liverpool and the wider City-region. It is the ideal time to be present on the ground, and in the thick of this rapidly developing project.
Planit-IE was also recently appointed to Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios’ team to masterplan the University of Liverpool’s campus, and is working with Gower Street Estates on the public realm and recently consented ‘Welcome Pavilion’ at the Albert Dock.
