London Studio Drinks
It was great to finally welcome guests to our new London studio, over a year and a half after moving in! This is our third address in the capital and it was a pleasure to share food and drinks with friends and collaborators we have come to know since setting up a London studio seven years ago.
Our new home is within Waterside, a Grade II former warehouse and printworks. The development is based round an attractive cobbled courtyard (once featured in the film ‘Kinky Boots), with a peaceful canal side garden on the Wenlock Basin. Unfortunately, as we arrived at Waterside, so did the restoration contractors. We have weathered months of works, including jack hammering in the courtyard right outside our studio; but are now able to enjoy our freshly renovated surroundings.
We are one of several smaller-scale pioneer and creative companies that have recently moved into Waterside. As well as acting as our yoga studio, the shared waterside garden has brought various practices together, as has the coffee shop which recently opened within the courtyard. Such a neighbourly environment prompted us to join forces with the graphic designers next door to host a joint event, when we found their World cup friendly celebration coincided with our plans for evening drinks. This added an extra dimension, with both practices and guests getting to know one another over precariously loaded hotdogs!
