Nuffield Health Manchester Approved

Planning approval has been granted for a private hospital and wellbeing centre by not-for-profit healthcare provider Nuffield.

The hospital will be located on Manchester Metropolitan University’s former Elizabeth Gaskell campus, partially within the Victoria Park Conservation Area. The Pozzoni-designed three-storey building respects the sensitive setting and is sympathetically located to work around existing trees within the parkland.

The relationship between the building and its surroundings maximises the healing and restorative benefits of nature; providing outward views into the tree canopies and open access to therapeutic landscapes across the 5-acre site.

The Project team are Pozzoni and Scott Tallon Walker Architects, Buro Happold (Engineer), Curtins (Transportation Engineer), TEP (Ecologist) and Virtual Planit (Visualisers).

The hospital is scheduled to open in early 2018.
