Sadler’s Yard Sneak Peek

Finishing touches are being made to Sadler’s Yard ahead of its imminent opening. The public will soon be able to enjoy the new square and public realm that has transformed a previously hidden space at the heart of The Co-operative’s historic estate.

Designers at Planit have finessed lighting settings with NOMA, iGuzzini and Contractor Casey as part of the final preparations. Exploration of the lighting system’s spectrum resulted in several programmes that can be fully adjusted and tailored to the season, or for a specific event. The illumination highlights stunning bespoke street furniture and totem fretwork by architectural and sculptural metalworker Chris Brammall, beautiful stonework and paving by Hardscape, and placemaking graphics developed in collaboration with United Creatives. The craftsmanship of these elements draws on the estate’s architectural heritage whilst anticipating its future creative communities.

Sadler’s Yard is poised on the cusp of opening and we can’t wait to see new life and uses brought to this area of the city centre, kick-started by the Pilcrow Pub.
